Make a gift today in memory of Todd A. Hernández. Support community involvement and other high-impact learning practices for Spanish students in Marquette’s Department of Languages, Literatures, and Cultures.
Dr. Hernández joined the Marquette faculty in 2004. He was promoted to associate professor in 2011 and became a full professor in 2019. An expert in language teaching methodology, he shaped practice-based and theoretically informed pedagogies in Wisconsin and beyond. He earned national prominence as a member of the American Council on the Teaching of Foreign Languages (ACTFL) and was a key participant in discussions on assessment and study abroad. His work and publications on these topics became a staple of linguistics and teacher preparation programs across the United States. In this capacity, he also actively participated in the teacher preparation program in Marquette’s College of Education.
