1881 Participation Challenge
An anonymous donor will contribute $1,000,000 to support Marquette students once we reach 1881 donors. The donor hopes to see future applicants to the University provided with financial assistance where there is both need and achievement determining the award.
50 States Participation Challenge
Mary Ellen, Arts ’78, and Scott, Arts ’77, Dent ’82, Stanek, National Campaign Co-chairs, will donate $50,000 to support the Wellness + Recreation Facility Fund in honor of Mike and Amy Lovell when we receive a gift from a donor in each of the 50 states – $1,000 for each state.
50 State Challenge: Unlock Wellness + Recreation Gift in Honor of Mike and Amy Lovell
This Wellness + Recreation Facility will improve campus health and wellness by physically bringing together three key student-centric areas: fitness and recreation, medical services, and mental health services.
Just as the Wellness + Recreation Facility will bring these three areas (and our campus) together, the 50 State Participation Challenge also brings together Marquette supporters across the nation.
Overall Scholarship Match
John Schaefer, Arts & Sciences '66, and Terry Schaefer will donate $150 in support of student scholarship for each donor who supports scholarship (Scholarship Fund or a college-specific Scholarship Fund), up to $75,000.
Blue’s Birthday Challenge
The Lynch Family Foundation will match gifts to the Bridge to the Future Fund, dollar-for-dollar, up to $5,000.
Backpack Program and Meal Swipe Fund Match
Mark Naidicz, Sp ’84, and Patricia Naidicz will match gifts to the Meal Swipes and Backpack Program, $5 for every $1, up to $50,000.
Backpack Program and Meal Swipe Donor Challenge
Members of the Marquette Alumni Association National Board of Directors will donate $20 to the Backpack Program and Meal Swipe Fund for every donor who supports the fund, up to $1,200.
Young Alumni Participation Challenge
Members of the Young Alumni Campaign Committee and Young Alumni Leadership Council will give $25,000 to Marquette when 1,250 young alumni (graduates from 2003-2023) make a gift to any fund on Give Marquette Day.
Student Participation Challenge
Brothers David Trautschold, Eng ’06, and Matt Trautschold, Eng ’04, will give $50 for each student donor, up to 200 donors.
Parent Participation
An anonymous couple will donate $200 to support the Office of Disability Services for every (current or past) parent donor who makes a gift on Give Marquette Day, up to $100,000. The Office of Disability Services supports accommodative services for students, including enhanced equipment and technology, growth of peer mentoring programs such as On Your Marq and upgraded technology and equipment to advance the mission of the Office of Disability Services.
Alumni Couples Challenge
Debbie Keppler, Jour ’80, and Jim Keppler, Sp ’79, will give $1,000 for every alumni couple who makes a gift to any fund, up to $100,000.
New Donor Challenge
Paul Manghera, Bus Ad '82, will give $25 for every new donor who makes a gift on Give Marquette Day, up to $2,500.
On Your Marq Neurodiversity Support Program
Emily and Sean Raclaw will give $500 for every donor who supports the On Your Marq Neurodiversity Support Program on Give Marquette Day, up to $12,000.
Chapel of the Holy Family Match
Brian Binash, Arts ’78, and Irene Binash will give $1,000 to the Chapel of the Holy Family Restoration Project Fund for each donor that supports the project, up to $25,000.
EOP Match
In honor of the 55th anniversary of the EOP program, Thuy Tran, Nurs ’95, will match gifts to the EOP Fund, $2 for $1, up to $2,555.
Institute for Women's Leadership
The Institute for Women’s Leadership Advisory Council will match every gift to the IWL Excellence Fund $1 for $1 up to $25,000. Your gift supports research and programs that will lead to greater gender equity in leadership.
Dreamer's Scholarship Match
Dan and Guadalupe Scholl will match gifts to the Ignacio Ellacuría, S.J., Dreamers Scholarship Fund, dollar-for-dollar, up to $25,000. This scholarship supports the financial needs of Marquette students who don't have access to federal financial aid.
Marquette Mentors
An anonymous Marquette mentor will match gifts made to the Marquette Mentor program, dollar-for-dollar, up to $2,500.
Honors Program Match
Dr. Paul Sackett, Arts ’75, and Dr. Pat Sackett, Arts ’75, will give $25 for every $1 donated toward the Honors Program Fund, up to $50,000.
Foley Archives Match
Caitlin Sickles, Comm ’09, and Ryan Sickles will give $1,000 to the James Wright Foley Archives Current Use Fund for every donor who supports the fund, up to $10,000.
Noon Power Hour Participation Challenge
If 300 donors make a gift between 12-1 pm (CT) on Give Marquette Day, it will unlock a $105,000 gift from Marianne Palen, Arts ’71, Grad ’72, and Chris Palen, Bus Ad ’71.
3pm Participation Challenge
Marc Viale, Arts ’90, will donate $50 to Marquette for every donor who makes a gift between 3 p.m. and 4 p.m. CT, up to $6,000.
Final Countdown
Juana Droessler, Arts ’68, will give $100 for each gift we receive during the final hour of Give Marquette Day between 11 p.m. and 11:59 p.m. CT, up to $10,000.
Klingler College of Arts and Sciences
College of Arts & Sciences Overall Match - All gifts made to support the Klingler College of Arts & Sciences, in any area, will be matched $1 for every $1, up to $25,000 by Jason and Shannon Swiatek, current Marquette parents.
Center for Peacemaking - An anonymous alumni couple will donate $100 to the Center for Peacemaking for every donor who supports the center, up to $5,000.
Political Science 100th Anniversary Participation Challenge - Help us reach our goal of 100 donors to the Political Science Department Fund in honor of the department’s 100th anniversary! Jerry Johnson, Arts ’72, will give $10 for every donor who supports the Political Science Department Fund, up to $1,000.
College of Business Administration
COBA Match - Maury Sheehy, Bus Ad ’64, Grad ’69, and Susan Sheehy, will match dollar-for-dollar for each gift directed to the College of Business Administration, up to $25,000.
AIM Challenge - Jay, Bus Ad '84, and Sara Schwister, and Patti Trompeter, Bus Ad '89, will give $1,000 to support AIM for every donor who supports the AIM Endowed Fund on Give Marquette Day, up to $100,000.
Finance Department Participation Challenge - Executive in Residence, Chris Swain, Bus Ad ’83,and Finance Advisory Board Chair, Rick Broeren, Bus Ad ’77, will give $250 for every donor who supports the Finance Department Fund, up to $10,000.
Real Estate Match - John, Bus Ad '11, and Katie, Bus Ad '11, Feeney, Chris Hughes, Bus Ad '88, The Adreani Family and Joe, Bus Ad '77, and Nanette, Sp '77, Grad '78, McElwee will donate $250 to the Center for Real Estate for every donor who supports the center on Give Marquette Day, up to $25,000.
Supply Chain Match - In honor of the 25th anniversary of the Center for Supply Chain Management, the Allen Lund Company will donate $200 for every donor who supports the Center for Supply Chain Management on Give Marquette Day, up to $5,000.
Diederich College of Communication
Communication Match - All gifts made to support the Diederich College of Communication in any area such as scholarship, the Diederich Experience, Student Media, the Student Agency, and Theatre Support Fund, will be matched $5 for every $1, up to $100,000 by Jenna Santoianni, Comm ’06.
Communication Participation Challenge - Swati Joshi, Comm ’94, will give $250 for every donor that supports the Diederich College of Communication, in any area, up to $50,000.
Student Success Match - The Green Family Foundation will donate $1,000 to the Diederich College of Communication Student Success Current Use Fund for each donor who supports the fund on Give Marquette Day, up to $25,000. This fund supports student in the college through peer mentorship, programming to welcome and support new students and sponsoring student trips to meet industry leaders throughout Milwaukee.
School of Dentistry
Dental School Match - All gifts made in support of the School of Dentistry will be matched $2 for every $1, up to $100,000 by an anonymous School of Dentistry alumna.
Opus College of Engineering
Engineering Match - An anonymous donor will match gifts to the Opus College of Engineering, in any area, dollar-for-dollar, up to $50,000.
Engineering Participation Challenge - An anonymous alumna will donate $200 for every donor that supports the Opus College of Engineering, in any area, up to $50,000.
Graduate School
Graduate School Participation - Joan Timmerman, Arts '61, Grad '68, '74, will donate $1,000 for every Graduate School alumnus/a who makes a gift on Give Marquette Day, up to $50,000.
College of Health Sciences
Health Sciences Match -Nancy Campbell, SP ’74, and Tom Campbell will match gifts to the College of Health Sciences, $2 for every $1, up to $100,000.
Law School
Law School Annual Fund Match: An anonymous donor will give $300 toward the Law School Annual Fund for every donor who participates – for a total of $15,000.
College of Nursing
College of Nursing Match - All gifts made to support the College of Nursing, in any area, will be matched $5 for every $1, up to $150,000 by the Wolohan Family Foundation.
Marquette University School of Nursing is the educational and professional preparation home for four Wolohan family members over four decades. Angela Wolohan, from founding generation of the Wolohan Family Foundation, was an RN in Michigan. Angela and husband Richard encouraged their family of seven children to pursue a strong educational foundation. The School of Nursing program is uniquely integrated with an emphasis on professional nursing skills and strong professional and personal values. The School of Nursing is fundamentally connected with values of healthy individuals and communities in the fullest sense of the word “health.”
Athletics
Athletics Match - Chuck, Eng ’89, and Karen, Eng ’90, Swoboda, National Campaign Co-chairs, will match $2 for every $1 of gifts directed to any Marquette Athletics fund, up to $100,000. Chuck and Karen will support the Men’s Basketball Excellence Fund, which provides the program with critical resources for leadership development and team building programming, upgrading analytics and more. In addition to this excellence fund, other Athletics funds that provide transformational impact for student-athletes include:

Blue & Gold Fund Match - Travis Diener, Comm '05, and Ro Diener, Bus Ad '05, will match gifts to the Blue & Gold Fund, dollar-for-dollar, up to $6,000.
M-Club Challenge - This opportunity is an excellent way for former student-athletes and Marquette fans to advocate and donate to their respective Sport Excellence Fund to compete for a matched gift to all of our programs courtesy of the M Club.
The M-Club will contribute $500 to the Women's Basketball Excellence Fund when 20 former Women's Basketball student-athletes participate in Give Marquette Day.
The M-Club will contribute $500 to the Men’s Basketball Excellence Fund when 10 former Men’s Basketball student-athletes participate in Give Marquette Day.
The M-Club will contribute $500 to the Women’s Soccer Excellence Fund when 25 former Women's Soccer student-athletes participate in Give Marquette Day.
The M-Club will contribute $500 to the Women's Lacrosse Excellence Fund when 35 former Women's Lacrosse student-athletes participate in Give Marquette Day.
The M-Club will contribute $500 to the Women's Tennis Excellence Fund when 16 former Women's Tennis student-athletes participate in Give Marquette Day.
The M-Club will contribute $500 to the Men’s Track & Field/Cross Country Excellence Fund and $500 to the Women’s Track and Field/Cross Country Excellence Fund when 45 former track & field/cross country student-athletes participate in Give Marquette Day.
The M-Club will contribute $500 to the Men’s Golf Excellence Fund when 50 former Men’s Golf student-athletes participate in Give Marquette Day.
The M-Club will contribute $500 to the Cheer & Dance Excellence Fund when 20 former Cheer & Dance student-athletes participate in Give Marquette Day.
The M-Club will contribute $500 to the Men’s Tennis Excellence Fund when 23 former Men’s Tennis student-athletes participate in Give Marquette Day.
The M-Club will contribute $500 to the Men’s Lacrosse Excellence Fund when 25 former Men’s Lacrosse student-athletes participate in Give Marquette Day.
The M-Club will contribute $500 to the Women's Volleyball Travel Excellence Fund when 25 former Women's Volleyball student-athletes participate in Give Marquette Day.
The M-Club will contribute $500 to the Men’s Soccer Excellence Fund when 15 former Men’s Soccer student-athletes participate in Give Marquette Day.
Cheer and Dance Match - Jim Stollberg, Eng '88, and Leslie Stollberg will match gifts to the Cheer & Dance Excellence Fund dollar for dollar, up to $1,000.
Men's Golf Match - Nathan Colson, Bus Ad ’06, and Beth Colson, Bus Ad ’07, Grad ’08, will match gifts to the Men’s Golf Excellence Fund, dollar-for-dollar, up to $10,000. The Colsons’ gift will fund one student-athlete’s international trip to Scotland. Help us double the impact and support another player’s trip!
Men's Lacrosse Match - Jim Meier, Bus Ad ’84, Bob Wright, Sp ’77, Law ’80, and a group of anonymous lacrosse supporters will match gifts made to the Men’s Lacrosse Excellence Fund, $2 for every $1, up to $25,000.
Men's Soccer Match - An anonymous Men’s Soccer alum will match gifts $2 for $1 donated to the Men’s Soccer Excellence Fund up to $1,500.
Tennis Match - Gifts to support men’s and women’s tennis will be matched, $2 for every $1, up to $5,000 by Ross Sprovieri, Bus Ad '90, and Sue Sprovieri.
Track and Field/Cross Country Challenge - Ted Mahoney, Arts ’77, and Lei Mahoney will give $100 toward the Track & Field/Cross Country Excellence Fund for every donor who supports the fund, up to $10,000. Each donor who supports the fund with a gift of $100 or more will receive a Track & Field 100th anniversary hat.
Women's Basketball Match - Mary Tobin, Grad '99, and John Healy, Arts '73, will match gifts to the Women's Basketball Excellence Fund, dollar-for-dollar, up to $1,000.
Women's Lacrosse Match - Anonymous lacrosse supporters will match gifts to the Women’s Lacrosse Excellence Fund, dollar-for-dollar, up to $10,000.
Women's Soccer Challenge - Greg and Mary Hill will give $10 for every donor who makes a gift to the Women's Soccer Excellence Fund, up to $1,000.
Women's Volleyball Match - Kevin Frisinger, Bus Ad ’85, Sheila Frisinger, Jim Meier, Bus Ad ’84, Joe Pavletich, Dent ’87, Bob Schneider, Bus Ad ’73, and Mary Schneider are matching gifts to the Women's Volleyball Travel Excellence Fund, dollar-for-dollar, up to $20,000.
Women's Volleyball Participation - Lisa (LaMore) Nelson, Arts ’93, and Eric Nelson, Comm ’92, will give $1,000 to the Women’s Volleyball Travel Excellence Fund when 100 donors support the fund on Give Marquette Day.
Regional Challenges
Time to Rise Windy City Challenge - If 1,000 donors from the Chicago region make a gift on Give Marquette Day, members of the Chicago Campaign Committee will give $100,000 to Marquette.
Northeast Participation Challenge - The Northeast Campaign Committee challenges supporters in the Northeast to help us reach our goal of 375 on Give Marquette Day. If the stretch goal of 400 donors is reached, the committee will donate an additional $30,000.
West Coast Participation Challenge - If 275 donors from the Western Region make a gift on Give Marquette Day this year, a Marquette family from the West Coast will give $50,000.
