Overall Scholarship Match

John Schaefer, Arts & Sciences '66, and Terry Schaefer, will donate $200 in support of student scholarship for each donor who supports scholarship (Scholarship Fund or a college-specific Scholarship Fund), up to $100,000.

Blue’s Birthday Challenge

The Lynch Family Foundation will match gifts to the Bridge to the Future Fund, dollar-for-dollar, up to $5,000.

1881 Participation Challenge

An anonymous alumni family will once again contribute $1,000,000 to Marquette once we reach 1881 donors.

The donors are excited to enhance professional development opportunities for students to engage with employers, participate in seminars focused on career discernment, travel for opportunities around internships and co-ops and benefit from one-on-one career counseling meetings through the Opus College of Engineering’s Industry Relations office.

Parkinson Family Challenge for Lovell Scholars

The Parkinson family has committed to match donations to the Lovell Scholars Fund up to $250,000.

Noon Power Hour Participation Challenge

If 350 donors make a gift from Noon to 1 p.m. CT on Give Marquette Day, it will unlock a $350,000 gift from Brian Nelson, Eng ’93, and Pei Nelson.

Bo and Candy Ellis Student Success Fund Match

An anonymous donor will match gifts to the Bo and Candy Ellis Student Success Fund, $10 for $1, up to $100,000.

Bridge to the Future Match

Marquette parents David and Elizabeth Bernstein will give $250 for every donor who supports the Bridge to the Future Fund, up to $40,000.

50 States Participation Challenge

When a donor from each of the 50 states participates, a gift will be unlocked from Mary Ellen, Arts ’78, and Scott, Arts ’77, Dent ’82, Stanek to support Marquette University and our students. 

Honors Program Match

Dr. Pat Sackett, Arts ’75, and Dr. Paul Sackett, Arts ’75, will give $20 for every $1 donated toward the Honors Program Fund, up to $50,000.

On Your Marq Neurodiversity Support Program Match

Emily & Sean Raclaw, and an anonymous parent couple from the On Your Marq program, will give $600 for every donor who supports the On Your Marq Neurodiversity Support Program on Give Marquette Day, up to $18,000.

Center for Peacemaking Match

Paul Porretta will give $200 to the Center for Peacemaking Civil Rights Pilgrimage for every donor who supports the pilgrimage, up to $5,000.

Student Media Endowed Gift Fund Match

John Salak, Comm ’79, and Suzanne Ausnit-Salak, will match gifts to the Student Media Endowed Gift Fund, $2 for every $1, up to $10,000.

Student Participation Match

Brothers David Trautschold, Eng ’06, and Matt Trautschold, Eng ’04, will give $50 for each student donor, up to 200 donors.

New Donor Challenge

Paul Manghera, Bus Ad '82, will give $25 for every new donor who makes a gift on Give Marquette Day, up to $2,500. 

Haggerty Museum of Art Challenge

Lacey Sadoff, Comm '05, will donate $500 for every donor who makes a gift to the Haggerty Museum of Art Fund on Give Marquette Day, up to $10,000.

Marquette Mentors Match

Several alumni mentors will match gifts made to the Marquette Mentors program, $1 for  $1, up to $20,000.

Parent Participation Challenge 

Dr. Christopher Alban and Susan Alban, current Marquette parents, will donate $250 for every (current or past) parent who makes a gift on Give Marquette Day, up to $125,000. 

Recovery at Marquette

Ann Ertle, Nurs ’86, will give $100 per donor who supports Recovery at Marquette, up to $2500. The Marquette Collegiate Recovery Program (CRP) offers on-campus recovery support and programming in a peer-based setting for Marquette students in recovery from substance use concerns.

Campus Ministry

Marquette parents, Aimee Wittman and Scott Jarboe, will donate $250 for every donor who supports Campus Ministry on Give Marquette Day, up to $5,000.

Alumni Couples Challenge

An anonymous alumni couple will give $500 for every alumni couple who makes a gift to any fund, up to $50,000.

Marquette Mentors Parent Participation Match

Mentor Chris Murphy, Arts '87 and Grad '89, and Sharon Murphy, parents of two students who benefited from Marquette Mentors, will donate $500 to the program for every parent (current or past) who also supports it on Give Marquette Day, up to $10,000.

Institute for Women's Leadership Match

The Institute for Women’s Leadership Advisory Council will match every gift to the IWL Excellence Fund $1 for $1 up to $25,000. Your gift supports research and programs that will lead to greater gender equity in leadership.

Navy ROTC Match

The Marquette University NROTC Seapower Leadership Association will give $1,000 for every donor who supports the Navy ROTC program on Give Marquette Day, up to $25,000.  

Windy City Challenge

Two Chicago-based alumni, Dave Kucera, Bus Ad '84, and Dan Hanrahan, Eng '97, Law '00, Grad '10, are collaborating to give $55,000 to Marquette if 1,000 donors from the Chicago region make a gift on Give Marquette Day. 

Backpack Program and Meal Swipe Donor Challenge

Members of the Marquette Alumni Association National Board of Directors will contribute $2 for every $1 donated to the Backpack Program and Meal Swipe Fund, up to a total of $6702.

Finance Department Participation Challenge

Executive in Residence, Chris Swain, Bus Ad ’83, and Finance Advisory Board Chair, Rick Broeren, Bus Ad ’77, will give $250 for every donor who supports the Finance Department Fund, up to $10,000. 

Ralph H. Metcalfe, Sr. Scholarship Match

Members of the Black Alumni Association Board will give $50 for every donor who supports the Metcalfe Scholarship, up to $1550.

Student Golden Ticket Match 

At the AMU on Give Marquette Day, 3 lucky student donors will find a golden ticket in their socks, which will award a $50 matching gift to the fund of the student's choice. The golden ticket matches are generously provided by the Young Alumni Leadership Council.

Klingler College of Arts and Sciences

College of Arts & Sciences Participation Challenge - Michael Preiner, Bus Ad ’02, and Megan Preiner will donate $20 for each donor who supports the Klinger College of Arts & Sciences, up to $5,000.

Center for Peacemaking - Paul Porretta will give $200 to the Center for Peacemaking Civil Rights Pilgrimage for every donor who supports the pilgrimage, up to $5,000.

Les Aspin Center: Kevin Seifert, Arts '07, will give $100 to the Les Aspin Center for every donor who supports the center, up to $5,000.

Navy ROTC Match - The Marquette University NROTC Seapower Leadership Association will give $1,000 for every donor who supports the Navy ROTC program on Give Marquette Day, up to $25,000.  

College of Business Administration

College of Business Administration Participation Challenge - Maury Sheehy, Bus Ad ’64, Grad ’69, and Susan Sheehy, will give $75 for every donor who supports a College of Business Administration fund, up to $29,000.

College of Business Administration Overall Match - Steve McManaman, Bus Ad ’92, and Halina McManaman, Bus Ad ’92, will match gift to any College of Business Administration fund, $2 for every $1, up to $125,000.

Center for Professional Selling Match - All gifts made to the Center for Professional Selling will be matched $2 for every $1, up to $5,000, by the Ribbich family.

Real Estate Match - John Feeney, Bus Ad '11, Katie Feeney, Bus Ad '11, Chris Hughes, Bus Ad '88, Joe McElwee, Bus Ad '77, and Nanette McElwee, Sp '77, Grad '78, will donate $300 to the Center for Real Estate for every donor who supports the center on Give Marquette Day, up to $30,000.

Diederich College of Communication

Communication Match - All gifts made to support the Diederich College of Communication in any area such as scholarship, the Diederich Experience, Student Media, the Student Agency, and Theatre Support Fund, will be matched $1 for every $1, up to $20,000 by an anonymous donor.

Communication Participation Challenge - Swati Joshi, Comm ’94, will give $250 for every donor that supports the Diederich College of Communication, in any area, up to $50,000.

Swati’s gift will support scholarship for communication students, as well as the Diederich College of Communication Student Success Fund. This fund supports students in the college through peer mentorship, programming to welcome and support new students and sponsoring student trips to meet industry leaders throughout Milwaukee.

Student Media Endowed Gift Fund Match - John Salak, Comm ’79, and Suzanne Ausnit-Salak, will match gifts to the Student Media Endowed Gift Fund, $2 for every $1, up to $10,000.

School of Dentistry

Dental School Match - All gifts made in support of the School of Dentistry will be matched $5 for every $1, up to $150,000, by donors who established the Family Legacy scholarships.

College of Health Sciences

Health Sciences Match - An anonymous donor will give $5 to the College of Health Sciences for every $1 donated to any area in the college on Give Marquette Day up to $130,000. Help us celebrate the 30th anniversary of the College of Health Sciences by supporting current and future students! 

Opus College of Engineering

Opus College of Engineering Match - An anonymous donor will match gifts to the Opus College of Engineering, in any area, $10 for every $1, up to $150,000.

Opus College of Engineering Participation - An anonymous donor will donate $1,000 for every donor who supports the Opus College of Engineering on Give Marquette Day, up to $200,000.

The donor's gift will support the Opus College of Engineering Student Success Center, which provides a transformative learning environment where students are supported and challenged to pursue academic excellence, share knowledge, and develop interpersonal skills. 

Athletics

Women's Lacrosse Excellence Fund Match - Anonymous lacrosse supporters will match gifts to the Women’s Lacrosse Excellence Fund, dollar-for-dollar, up to $10,000.

M Club Challenge - The M Club will contribute $1,500 to the respective sports excellence fund for each program that has at least 15 former student-athletes make a gift on Give Marquette Day.

This opportunity is an excellent way for former student-athletes to advocate and donate to their respective Sport Excellence Fund.

Men's Basketball Excellence Fund Participation -Richard Coley, Arts '65, and the Coley family will give $2500 for every donor who supports the Men's Basketball Excellence Fund, up to $100,000.

Women's Basketball Excellence Fund Match - Bob Schneider, Bus Ad ’73, and Mary Schneider will match gifts to the Women's Basketball Excellence Fund, dollar-for-dollar, up to $5,000.

Women's Soccer Challenge - Ann Keiper, Arts '92, and Jamie Keiper, Bus Ad '92, will give $50 for every donor who supports the Women's Soccer Excellence Fund, up to $5,000.

Women's Tennis Excellence Fund Match - Barb Van Lieshout Rueth, Bus Ad ’86, and Rich Rueth, Arts ‘84, will match gifts to the Women’s Tennis Excellence Fund, dollar-for-dollar, up to $1,000.

Barb is an alumna of the women’s tennis program, standing out as a four-year letter winner, two-time captain and was inducted into the Marquette University Athletics Hall-of-Fame in 1999. 

Women's Volleyball Match - Bob Schneider, Bus Ad ’73, and Mary Schneider will match gifts to the Women's Volleyball Excellence Fund, dollar-for-dollar, up to $10,000.

Track and Field/Cross Country Challenge - Ted Mahoney, Arts ’77, and Lei Mahoney will give $100 toward the Track & Field/Cross Country Excellence Fund for every donor who supports the fund, up to $10,000. 

Cheer and Dance Excellence Fund Match - Former Spirit Squad parents, Greg Hill and Mary Cagney Hill, Bus Ad ‘85, will match gifts to the Cheer and Dance Excellence Fund dollar for dollar up to $1000.

Overarching Athletics Match - Kevin Frisinger, Bus Ad '85, and Sheila Frisinger, will match gifts to any Marquette Athletics fund, $2 for every $1, up to $100,000.

The Frisingers' gift will support a newly established Athletic Director Strategic Initiatives Fund, which is committed to advancing student-athlete well-being, coaching excellence and the student-athlete experience across all programs. 

Women's Volleyball Participation Challenge - Joanne Pittman Shiely, PT ‘84, will give $15 for every donor who supports the Women's Volleyball Excellence Fund, up to $1,500, in honor of M Club Hall of Fame member Catherine "Tat" Shiely.

Tat was instrumental in founding Marquette's women's athletics programs and the university's first women's volleyball and women's basketball coach. 

Men's Lacrosse Participation Challenge - To celebrate their continued commitment to the program, members of the 2016 Men’s Lacrosse team will donate $10,000 once 75 donors make a gift to the Men's Lacrosse Excellence Fund on Give Marquette Day.

Every gift counts toward reaching this milestone and unlocking their generous support.

Men's La Crosse Excellence Fund Match - Anonymous lacrosse supporters will match girls to the Men's Lacrosse Excellence Fund, dollar-for-dollar, up to $20,000.

Men's Golf Excellence Fund Match - Jim Meier, Bus Ad ’84, will match gifts to the Men’s Golf Excellence Fund, dollar-for-dollar, up to $5,000.

 

College of Nursing

College of Nursing Match - All gifts made to support the College of Nursing, in any area, will be matched $5 for every $1, up to $90,000 by Mary Jo Jesenovec, Nurs '77, and William Jesenovec, Arts '76, in honor of the College of Nursing's 90th anniversary.

College of Nursing Participation Challenge - Dr. Kate Bergl, Nurs ’06, and Dr. Paul Bergl, Eng ’04, will give $25 for every donor who makes a gift to support the College of Nursing, in any area, up to $5,000.

Law School

Law School Annual Fund: An anonymous donor will give $250 toward the Law School Annual Fund for every donor who participates – for a total of $25,000.
