1881 Participation Challenge: An anonymous alumni family will contribute $1,000,000 to Marquette once we reach 1881 donors.

The donors are excited to enhance professional development opportunities for students to engage with employers, participate in seminars focused on career discernment, travel for opportunities around internships and co-ops and benefit from one-on-one career counseling meetings through the Opus College of Engineering’s Industry Relations office.

50 State Challenge, Unlock Lovell Scholars Gift: Mary Ellen, Arts ’78, and Scott, Arts ’77, Dent ’82, Stanek, will donate $50,000 to support the Lovell Scholars in memory of Dr. Mike Lovell when we receive a gift from a donor in each of the 50 states – $1,000 for each state.

The Michael R. Lovell Presidential Scholarship program will attract and develop the next generation of servant leaders at Marquette University. This first-ever presidential scholarship program at Marquette will benefit outstanding students from across the country who are grounded in humility and committed to the same values with which President Lovell lived his life. These values make up the pillars of our mission: Excellence, Faith, Leadership and Service. 

Let’s rally together across the 50 states as members of the Marquette community to support our students and honor Dr. Lovell.

Marquette Fund: Aparna Bawa, Bus Ad '99, will match gifts to the Marquette Fund, $2 for every $1, up to $100,000.

Bo and Candy Ellis Student Success Fund Match: An anonymous donor will match gifts to the Bo and Candy Ellis Student Success Fund, $10 for $1, up to $100,000. 

Overall Scholarship Match: John Schaefer, Arts & Sciences '66, and Terry Schaefer will donate $200 in support of student scholarship for each donor who supports scholarship (Scholarship Fund or a college-specific Scholarship Fund), up to $100,000.

Noon Power Hour Participation Challenge: If 300 donors make a gift between 12-1 pm (CT) on Give Marquette Day, it will unlock a $125,000 gift from Kate Worrell, Arts ’99, and Brian Worrell.

Student Participation Challenge: Brothers David Trautschold, Eng ’06, and Matt Trautschold, Eng ’04, will give $50 for each student donor, up to 200 donors.

Bridge to the Future/Blue's Birthday Match: The Lynch Family Foundation will match gifts to the Bridge to the Future Fund, dollar-for-dollar, up to $5,000.

On Your Marq Neurodiversity Support Program: In celebration of On Your Marq's 5th anniversary, Emily & Sean Raclaw, and an anonymous parent couple from the On Your Marq program, will give $1,000 for every donor who supports the On Your Marq Neurodiversity Support Program on Give Marquette Day, up to $31,000.

Haggerty Museum of Art: In honor of the Haggerty Museum of Art's 40th anniversary, Fred Syrjanen, Arts '71, and Barb Syrjanen, will donate $1,000 to the museum for every donor who makes a gift to the Haggerty Museum of Art Fund on Give Marquette Day, up to $40,000.

New Donor Challenge: Paul Manghera, Bus Ad '82, will give $25 for every new donor who makes a gift on Give Marquette Day, up to $2,500. 

Bridge to the Future: Marquette parents David and Elizabeth Bernstein will give $2 for every $1 donated to the Bridge to the Future Fund, up to $40,000.

Honors Program Match: Dr. Pat Sackett, Arts ’75, and Dr. Paul Sackett, Arts ’75, will give $20 for every $1 donated toward the Honors Program Fund, up to $50,000. 

Parent Participation: An anonymous legacy parent will donate $200 to support scholarship for every (current or past) parent donor who makes a gift on Give Marquette Day, up to $100,000. 

Marquette Mentors: Several alumni mentors will match gifts made to the Marquette Mentors program, $1 for every $1 donated, up to $20,000.

Institute for Women's Leadership: The Institute for Women’s Leadership Advisory Council will match every gift to the IWL Excellence Fund $1 for $1 up to $25,000. Your gift supports research and programs that will lead to greater gender equity in leadership.

Student Golden Ticket Match: During Power Hour (12 p.m. - 1 p.m. CT) at the AMU, 12 lucky student donors will find a golden ticket in their socks. Eleven golden tickets will award a $500 matching gift to the fund of the student's choice and the "Blue and Golden Ticket" will award a $700 matching gift to the fund of the winning students choice. The golden ticket matches are generously provided by the Young Alumni Leadership Council.  

Campus Ministry: Marquette parents, Jim and Maureen Stern, will donate $2,500 for every donor who supports Campus Ministry on Give Marquette Day, up to $50,000.

Young Alumni Participation Challenge: Michael Muratore, Bus Ad ’11, & Jordan Muratore, Greg Schumacher-Novak, Eng ’08, Grad ’10, & Emily Schumacher-Novak, Comm ’07, Grad ’11, Kyle Whelton, Arts ’15, and Janine Whelton, and an anonymous alumni couple will donate $10 for every young alumnus/a (graduates from 2004-2024) who participates in Give Marquette Day, up to $12,500.

Backpack Program and Meal Swipe Donor Challenge: Members of the Marquette Alumni Association National Board of Directors will donate $2 for every $1 to the Backpack Program and Meal Swipe Fund for every donor who supports the fund, up to $5,400.

Alumni Couples Challenge: Megan Binsfeld, Bus ’00, and Matt Binsfeld, Eng ’00, will give $500 for every alumni couple who makes a gift to any fund, up to $50,000.

Athletics

Athletics Match - Chuck, Eng ’89, and Karen, Eng ’90, Swoboda,will match $2 for every $1 of gifts directed to any Marquette Athletics fund, up to $100,000. Chuck and Karen will support the Men’s Basketball Excellence Fund, which provides the team with critical resources, ensuring its sustainability as one of the top basketball programs in the nation. In addition to this excellence fund, other Athletics funds that provide transformational impact for student-athletes include:

Cheer and Dance Excellence Fund Match - Dr. Grant Bonavia and Mattie Bonavia will match gifts to the Cheer & Dance Excellence Fund dollar for dollar, up to $1,500.

M Club Challenge - The M Club will contribute $500 to the respective sports excellence fund for each program that has at least 15 former student-athletes make a gift on Give Marquette Day. This opportunity is an excellent way for former student-athletes to advocate and donate to their respective Sport Excellence Fund.

Men's Golf Excellence Fund Match - Michael Krouse, Arts ’92, and Jim Meier, Bus Ad ’84, will match gifts to the Men’s Golf Excellence Fund, dollar-for-dollar, up to $10,000.

Dennis Klumb, Arts '84 and Pam Klumb will match gifts to the Men's Golf Excellence Fund, dollar-for-dollar, up to $5,000.

Men's Lacrosse Excellence Fund Match - All gifts made to support the Men’s Lacrosse Excellence Fund will be matched $5 for every $1, up to $50,000 by David and Suzanne Casey and David Sullivan, Sp ’86, and Gioia Riccio.

Men's Soccer Match - An anonymous Men’s Soccer alum will match gifts $2 for $1 donated to the Men’s Soccer Excellence Fund up to $1,500.

Men's Tennis Excellence Fund Match  - Jeff Nuss, Bus Ad ’01, and Andrea Nuss will match gifts $1 for $1, up to $1000, towards the Men’s Tennis Excellence Fund.

Track and Field/Cross Country Challenge - Ted Mahoney, Arts ’77, and Lei Mahoney will give $100 toward the Track & Field/Cross Country Excellence Fund for every donor who supports the fund, up to $10,000. 

Women's Basketball Challenge - Michael, Bus Ad '74, Grad '75, and Barbara, Bus Ad '76, Klein, will donate $2,500 for every donor who makes a gift to the Women’s Basketball Excellence Fund, up to $100,000. 

Women's Lacrosse Match - Anonymous lacrosse supporters will match gifts to the Women’s Lacrosse Excellence Fund, dollar-for-dollar, up to $10,000.

Women's Soccer Challenge - Jaime McGaver, Arts '04, Law '07, will give $10 for every donor who makes a gift to the Women's Soccer Excellence Fund, up to $500.

Women's Tennis Excellence Fund Match - Barb Van Lieshout Rueth, Bus Ad ’86, and Rich Rueth, Arts ‘84, will match gifts to the Women’s Tennis Excellence Fund, dollar-for-dollar, up to $1,000. Barb is an alumna of the women’s tennis program, standing out as a four-year letter winner, two-time captain and was inducted into the Marquette University Athletics Hall-of-Fame in 1999.

Women's Volleyball Match - Bob Schneider, Bus Ad ’73, and Mary Schneider will match gifts to Women's Volleyball, dollar-for-dollar, up to $10,000. 

Klingler College of Arts and Sciences

College of Arts & Sciences Overall Match - All gifts made to support the Klingler College of Arts & Sciences, in any area, will be matched $5 for every $1, up to $225,000 by Marquette parents Jason and Shannon Swiatek. 

Center for Peacemaking - An anonymous donor will give $100 to the Center for Peacemaking for every donor who supports the center, up to $3,000.

Les Aspin Center: An anonymous donor will give $200 to the Les Aspin Center for every donor who supports the center, up to $5,000. 

College of Business Administration

Accounting Match - The Accounting Advisory Board will donate $635 for every donor who supports the Accounting Department on Give Marquette Day, up to $9,525.

AIM Participation Challenge: Jay, Bus Ad '84, and Sara Schwister, will give $1,000 to support AIM for every donor who supports the AIM Endowed Fund on Give Marquette Day, up to $100,000. 

COBA Match - Maury Sheehy, Bus Ad ’64, Grad ’69, and Susan Sheehy, will match dollar-for-dollar for each gift directed to the College of Business Administration, up to $28,000.

COBA Participation Challenge - Andrew DeGuire, Arts ’93 and the James H. Keyes Dean of the College of Business Administration, and Nikki Sohm DeGuire, Arts '93, will give $10 for every donor who supports a College of Business Administration fund, up to $2,500.

Finance Department Participation Challenge - Executive in Residence, Chris Swain, Bus Ad ’83, and Finance Advisory Board Chair, Rick Broeren, Bus Ad ’77, will give $250 for every donor who supports the Finance Department Fund, up to $10,000. 

Real Estate Match - John Feeney, Bus Ad '11, Katie Feeney, Bus Ad '11, Chris Hughes, Bus Ad '88, Joe McElwee, Bus Ad '77, and Nanette McElwee, Sp '77, Grad '78, will donate $250 to the Center for Real Estate for every donor who supports the center on Give Marquette Day, up to $25,000.

Supply Chain Match - Robert, Eng ’78, and Christine Jahncke; Mark, Bus Ad ’87, and Lori Boutelle; and John Mau, Bus Ad '14, Grad '16, will donate $200 for every donor who supports the Center for Supply Chain Management on Give Marquette Day, up to $5,000. 

Diederich College of Communication

Communication Match - All gifts made to support the Diederich College of Communication in any area such as scholarship, the Diederich Experience, Student Media, the Student Agency, and Theatre Support Fund, will be matched $1 for every $1, up to $15,000 by an anonymous donor.

Communication Participation Challenge - Swati Joshi, Comm ’94, will give $250 for every donor that supports the Diederich College of Communication, in any area, up to $50,000.

Student Success Match - Patrick Jarvis, Comm '89, will donate $400 to the Diederich College of Communication Student Success Current Use Fund for each donor who supports the fund on Give Marquette Day, up to $10,000. This fund supports students in the college through peer mentorship, programming to welcome and support new students and sponsoring student trips to meet industry leaders throughout Milwaukee.

School of Dentistry

Dental School Match - All gifts made in support of the School of Dentistry will be anonymously matched $10 for every $1, up to $250,000. These donors will support the Paul J. Stoiber, Founder of Northwest Dental Laboratory, Endowed Scholarship, established by the Stoiber family, in hope that others will be inspired to help build this scholarship fund to ensure all who desire to work in the field of oral care are afforded the opportunity. Paul J. Stoiber started Northwest Dental Laboratory in Milwaukee in the 1930s and this scholarship was started as a thank-you to all the dentists who were customers of Northwest Dental Laboratory. He was committed to building and nurturing an improved quality of life for working-class families living in the area, providing job opportunities for a community growing in number and diversity.

Opus College of Engineering

Engineering Match - Kelly and Sheila Kornely will match gifts to the Opus College of Engineering, in any area, 5:1, up to $100,000.

Engineering Participation Challenge - Vanessa Martin-Wegryn, Eng '17, will donate $50 for every College of Engineering alumnus/a who makes a gift on Give Marquette Day, up to $8,000.

Vanessa will support the Donald J. and Frances I. Herdrich Bridge to the Future Scholarship Fund, an emergency fund which provides scholarship support to current students whose changing economic circumstances jeopardize their ability to continue their education in the Opus College of Engineering. 

Graduate School

Graduate School Participation: Chris Murphy, Arts '87 and Grad '89, and Sharon Murphy, will donate $1,000 for every Graduate School alumnus/a who makes a gift on Give Marquette Day, up to $50,000.

College of Health Sciences

Health Sciences Match - All gifts made in support of the College of Health Sciences, in any area, will be matched $10 for every $1, up to $250,000 by Dr. David Ludington, Arts '76, Dent '82 and Patricia Ludington, on Give Marquette Day. 

College of Nursing

College of Nursing Match - All gifts made to support the College of Nursing, in any area, will be matched $5 for every $1, up to $100,000 by Peggy Chrzan, Nurs '66.

College of Nursing - Patricia O’Shea (Gornick), Nurs '14, will give $2 for every donor who makes a gift to support the College of Nursing, in any area, up to $500.

Law School

Law School Annual Fund: An anonymous donor will give $400 toward the Law School Annual Fund for every donor who participates – for a total of $20,000.

Regional Challenges

Windy City Challenge: If 1,000 donors from the Chicago region make a gift on Give Marquette Day, Dave Kucera, Bus Ad '84, will give $50,000 to Marquette.
